Taiwan
and US-based Double Edge Entertainment
will co-finance with Inferno Distribution
the psychological thriller The Heaven
Project, which has started principal photography
and stars Paul Walker and Piper Perabo.
The company also
co-financed with Inferno the family comedy
Smother starring Diane Keaton, Liv Tyler
and Dax Shepard, which is currently in
post-production.
Double Edge is
backed by various financial entities and
operates as a producer, financing partner,
and pan-Asian distributor. The company
plans to produce and co-finance five to
six English-language features and distribute
a total of 12 films per year.
"We are moving
into higher budget productions, involving
ourselves with the right projects and
partnering with the right producers",
Double Edge Entertainment chief executive
officer Bobby Sheng said.
"Our
value proposition is simple: we offer
financing of up to 20% that's complementary,
strategically not competing with the position
of other financing sources." |
